GWCC NAMES PATRICK SKAGGS NEW ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER - OCTOBER 2009
ATLANTA - (October 28, 2009) Patrick Skaggs has been named the assistant general manager of the Georgia World Congress Center effective December 1, 2009.

GWCCA'S DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY RECEIVES STATE CERTIFICATION
ATLANTA - (September 3, 2009) The Georgia World Congress Center Authority's Department of Public Safety recently received state certification by the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police on July 14, 2009.

GWCCA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT
ATLANTA - (July 28, 2009) Dan Graveline, executive director of the Georgia World Congress Center Authority, will retire at the end of this year following 33 years at the helm of one of the nation’s largest convention, sports and entertainment complexes. Bob Prather, GWCCA board chairman, announced the news of Graveline’s retirement at today’s Authority board meeting.

KEVIN DUVALL APPOINTED CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER OF GWCCA
ATLANTA, GA (July 16, 2009) – Kevin Duvall has been named chief operating officer of the Georgia World Congress Center Authority, effective August 1. Dan Graveline, Georgia World Congress Center Authority executive director, recently announced the appointment.

GEORGIA WORLD CONGRESS CENTER INSTALLING WELLS AND CISTERNS ON CAMPUS
ATLANTA, GA (April 29, 2009) – The Georgia World Congress Center Authority will soon be able to water its green space and turn its fountains back on after a water ban that went into effect October 2007.

ESCA INTRODUCES NEW NATIONAL BADGE PLAN
ATLANTA, GA (April 29, 2009) – The Exhibition Services & Contractors Association (ESCA) will soon launch the Worker Identification System (WIS) which will be used by convention facilities to identify tradeshow labor when they are onsite.

ATLANTA, GA (March 13, 2009) – One year after an F2 tornado hit downtown Atlanta, the Georgia World Congress Center Authority is busy with activity.

GWCCA EXECUTIVE, KHALIL JOHNSON, ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT FOLLOWING 30 YEARS OF SERVICE
ATLANTA, GA (February 24, 2009) – The Georgia World Congress Center Authority announced today that Khalil Johnson, Chief Operating Officer for the Authority, will retire on August 1, 2009 following more than 30 years of service.

ZERO WASTE ZONE INITIATIVES ANNOUNCED AT THE GEORGIA WORLD CONGRESS CENTER
Atlanta, GA (February 11, 2009) - The Georgia World Congress Center Authority announced this week that it has joined forces with its downtown Atlanta neighbors to form a Zero Waste Zone.
