Georgia World Congress Center and Georgia Dome Campus Gear Up for Busy Weekend
The Georgia World Congress Center, Georgia Dome and surrounding areas will be action packed this weekend! The SEC Championship Game returns to the Georgia Dome on Saturday, December 2 with a 6 p.m. kickoff. The oldest of the major conference title games, the game dates back to 1992. This year, the rich history of the SEC returns to the Georgia Dome as the Arkansas Razorbacks face the Florida Gators! |

International Woodworking Fair Holds Largest Show Ever at GWCC
The International Woodworking Fair returned to the Georgia World Congress Center this month with its largest show ever. IWF 2006 filled the entire 3.9 million square feet of all three buildings of the convention center. |
New Wayfinding Signs Introduced Downtown
This month the very first elements of the Downtown and Midtown Wayfinding System signs were installed. This initiative, spearheaded by Central Atlanta Progress, will standardize signage that is currently inconsistent and confusing. |

Back for Year Three
The
Georgia World Congress Center and Georgia Dome
welcomed back MegaFest this month for the third
year in a row. This year marks the 30th Anniversary
of Bishop T.D. Jakes' ministry. |

Rejuvenation for the Dome

year, the summer months are a flurry of activity
around the Georgia Dome. Not from excited Falcons
fans, Monster Truck enthusiast or even college
graduates, but from the dedicated staff, working
diligently to prepare the building for another
fantastic year. This year the Dome has undergone
some extensive maintenance projects. |

attended the 10th Anniversary Celebration of
the Centennial Olympic Games on Saturday, July
15. The event began in the early evening as
volunteers from the Atlanta Games met at designated
areas around Centennial Olympic Park to reunite
with their fellow volunteers from ten years
ago. |

Opened during the 2005 football season, the Atlanta
Falcons Owners Club was recently highlighted during
an event to show off its magnificent assets. The
eye-catching club boasts two full bars, a dining
area and a full buffet with food created by Executive
Chef Brian Vossler. |
New
MARTA Route Downtown Designed for Tourists
Exploring downtown just got easier! MARTA launched
a new bus route this month called the Atlanta
Tourist Loop designed to take riders to all of
the most popular attractions downtown. The route,
number 100, runs every 30 minutes and will take
tourists from the Georgia Aquarium to the Martin
Luther King, Jr. Center to the CNN Center and
everything in between. |
New
in the Park for 2006 Season
Centennial Olympic Park recently launched its
new website, www.centennialpark.com, designed
to give visitors a Park experience while online
complete with beauty shots and information about
upcoming events. Along with the new website, the
Park is also proud to be the location of new events
this year like Star 94's Movie Under the Stars
and the Southern Comfort Music Experience (SCMX).

FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science
and Technology) returns to the Georgia World Congress
Center Authority Campus April 27-29 for its championship
event after months of preparation and regional
competitions. The FIRST Championship is the premier
student robotics competition and celebration of
science and technology. |

New Logo to Accompany Bowl's New Name
The Chick-fil-A Bowl recently unveiled its new
logo during a ceremony on the West Plaza of the
Georgia Dome. Representatives from the Chick-fil-A
Bowl, Chick-fil-A, Atlanta Sports Council and
the Georgia Dome were present to see the new logo,
which was revealed ceremoniously on a 1,000-square-foot
banner. |

full of activity this weekend with the FIRST
Robotics Championship, Alive! Expo and the Atlanta
Journal-Constitution International Auto Show.

Kevin Duvall has been named assistant general
manager of the Georgia World Congress Center,
effective May 1. Dan Graveline, Georgia World
Congress Center Executive Director, recently announced
the appointment. |

Week of April Kicks Off Park Season

weather is almost here and the start of April
marks the beginning of Centennial Olympic Park's
free events calendar. Continuing a tradition
of concerts and children's activities, the Park
has a lot to offer every week throughout the
Spring and Summer. |

Center is very happy to welcome back The Big
South National Qualifier & Expo. The event,
which takes place at the end of the month, is
the largest amateur youth volleyball event in

Airport Busy Making Improvements
In 2005, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International
Airport was named the "World's Busiest Passenger
Airport" for the 7th consecutive year. To
ensure that it continues to receive this award
and to provide the best customer experience to
millions of travelers each year, the airport is
busy with numerous, major improvement projects
including, the completion of the Fifth Runway,
a Consolidated Rental Car Facility and cosmetic
upgrades throughout, to name a few. |

the American Craft Council's 17th Annual Atlanta
Fine Craft Show features 250 of the nation's premier

Welcomes the International Poultry Expo Again
The Georgia World Congress Center is pleased to
welcome the International Poultry Expo to campus
once again. The tradeshow will take place Jan.
25-27 in Buildings B & C. With more than 18,000
attendees from around the world, this annual meeting
of the U.S. Poultry & Egg Association will
mark the 58th consecutive year that the meeting
has been held in Atlanta. |

Dome Hosts Three Games in Four Days
No one was busier over the New Years weekend than
the Georgia Dome. With the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl,
the last Falcons game of the season and a one-time
opportunity to host the Sugar Bowl, the Dome was
home to three football games in four days—a
phenomena the stadium has never experienced. |
