Georgia
Dome Hires New Director of Business Development
The Georgia Dome announces its new Director of
Business Development, Tiffany W. Daniels, who
will begin work on Jan. 2, 2006. Carl Adkins,
general manager of the Georgia Dome, announced
the hire on Dec. 7. |
New
Food Court in Building A
With a never ending desire to provide attendees
with the best dining options available, a fabulous
new eatery has opened in the Georgia World Congress
Center's Building A. Previously the Courtyard
Cafeteria, Food Court is a mini version of Food
World located in Building C. |
Living
Classroom at the Georgia Dome
For the past three years, the research arm of
the Georgia World Congress Center Authority Marketing
department has partnered with the Georgia State
University Sports Management School to create
a living classroom experience for graduate students. |
Members
of IAEM Experience a New Atlanta
Members of International Association for Exhibition
Management (IAEM) experienced a new Atlanta during
the annual exhibition and meeting, Expo! Expo!,
at the Georgia World Congress Center Nov. 29 through
Dec. 1. |
Downtown
Atlanta Full of Activity This Weekend
What a great time to be in downtown Atlanta! This
weekend, the Georgia World Congress Center, the
Georgia Dome and Centennial Olympic Park will
host a variety of events, creating a lot of hustle
and bustle in the downtown convention corridor.
From the SEC Championship Game to Festival of
Trees to Holiday in Lights, the GWCCA campus is
gearing up for a weekend full of excitement. |
GWCC
Opens Second Bethune Elementary Gallery
November 4 marked the opening of the second wing
of the Bethune Art Gallery in the Georgia World
Congress Center's Building C. The original gallery
opened last fall and both overlook Bethune Elementary
School, which is located across Northside Drive
from Building C. |
Georgia
World Congress Center is Going Green
Since this past spring, the Georgia World Congress
Center has been working with the US Department
of Energy, Georgia Environmental Facilities Authority,
Georgia Pollution Prevention Assistance Division
and Georgia Department of Natural Resources to
turn the convention center green. |
Hartsfield-Jackson
Becomes A Hotspot
Conventioneers traveling to Atlanta will be pleased
to know that their wireless dreams have come true.

Brand Atlanta campaign is a collaborative effort
between the public and private sectors to create
a new brand for the City of Atlanta, and it
will be rolled out over the coming months. |
Sugar
Bowl '06 to be Held in Atlanta
The Sugar Bowl Committee has announced that it
will stage the 72nd Nokia Sugar Bowl Football
Classic on January 2, 2006, in Atlanta's Georgia
Dome and will use proceeds generated by that Bowl
Championship Series (BCS) game to support hurricane
relief efforts in its native New Orleans. |

THE
WORK TRUCK SHOW RETURNS TO ATLANTA IN 2006 AND
2008
The
National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA)
announced this week it will return to Atlanta
in 2006 and 2008. The event, which rotates locations,
was held in Atlanta in 2003. The Work Truck
Show 2006 will be held Feb. 28 - March 3, 2006.

FIRST
COMMITS TO ATLANTA FOR 2007 ROBOTICS CHAMPIONSHIPS
For
Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology
(FIRST) has announced it will return to Atlanta
for the 2007 Robotics Championships. The commitment
to return to the city for another three years
comes after the success the 2004 and 2005 competitions
in Atlanta. |

The
transformation from broken ground in May of
2003 to completed Georgia Aquarium is just a
