Members of International Association for Exhibition Management (IAEM) experienced a new Atlanta during the annual exhibition and meeting, Expo! Expo!, at the Georgia World Congress Center Nov. 29 through Dec. 1. The over 2,100 attendees represent the leaders of the meeting and trade show industry. "What a great opportunity to show off our city and our center," said Mark Zimmerman, general manager of the Georgia World Congress Center. "It was wonderful to have this group of distinguished industry leaders in Atlanta and we hope to see them again very soon."

The city's huge hospitality community welcomed IAEM attendees to town during an incredible reception at the new Georgia Aquarium. Exploring the brand new attraction, visitors experienced the world's largest aquarium and got a glimpse at all the great things downtown Atlanta has to offer—from 12,000 hotel rooms to restaurants to fine arts to the World of Coke…and much more!

Members of IAEM were also able to take a back of the house tour of the Georgia World Congress Center. The tour included a stop in the main kitchen, two auditoriums, the loading docks, two grand ballrooms, the on-site marshalling yard, the police department, engineering shop and exhibit halls, among other locations. After thoroughly exploring the GWCC, the tour proceeded to Centennial Olympic Park and the Georgia Dome, where they walked on the field and visited the Falcons' locker room. The tour allowed attendees to see the operational side of the GWCC Authority as well as an opportunity for the center to show off all of the amenities it has to offer.

IAEM is the largest association of the exhibition industry in the world and members include both show organizers and exhibition suppliers. The show was a successful opportunity for Atlanta and the Georgia World Congress Center to shine during a fall full of new developments for the city.
