SOUTHEASTERN FLOWER SHOW TRANSFORMS GWCC INTO GARDENS

(Atlanta - February 3, 2005) The Georgia World Congress Center is proud to welcome back the Southeastern Flower Show, a garden enthusiast's dream exhibit. This impressive show transforms the exhibit halls into stunning gardens. The event boasts landscaped gardens, floral arrangements, horticultural and artistic demonstrations, renowned speakers and more. This year's theme is Inspiration, Education, Entertainment...The Italian Experience. The show will feature Italian gardens adapted to Southern ideals.

The show will be full of special occasions starting with the opening night party. This black-tie event will include live music and a cocktail buffet amongst the gardens on Tuesday night. Wednesday is Garden Club Day with speakers and demonstrations that will include new gardening trends as well as old-time favorite techniques. Wednesday night's event, entitled "Vino on La Via", will feature a free wine tasting. Attendees will learn about Italy's wine regions directly from an Italian wine distributor. Girls Night Out is Thursday evening complete with a fashion show, free wine tasting, chef demonstrations and raffle prizes. Friday night is Arts is the Garden with performances from the Atlanta Ballet, Atlanta Opera, Center for Puppetry Arts and others. The evening will also include chef demonstrations and a free wine tasting. Ticket prices are reduced Wednesday through Friday after 4 p.m.

For family fun, Thursday is Home School and Field Trip Day with arts and crafts, a floral design class, demonstrations and speakers. Sunday is Family Frolic day with arts and crafts, clown performances, educational activities and a "Foolish for Flowers" Hat Parade.

The Southeastern Flower Show is Feb. 8-12, 2006. Show hours are Wednesday through Saturday 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. The event is located in Building C of the Georgia World Congress Center.
