Busy Weekend for GWCCA Campus

The Georgia World Congress Center campus is ready for another active weekend. Continuing at the GWCC through Sunday is the 24th Annual Atlanta Journal-Constitution International Auto Show in Building B. This event features a wide variety of styles, including luxury vehicles, economy cars, sports cars, limited production cars, convertibles, vans, light trucks and 4-wheel drive vehicles. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for 6-12 year-old children, and free for children under 6. For more information visit www.ajcautoshow.com.

In addition to the Auto Show, the GWCC will host The Learning Annex Real Estate Wealth Expo in Building C on May 6-7. This event is geared towards entrepreneurs looking to invest in real estate as well as first time homebuyers looking for a fantastic deal. There will be over 100 vendors as well as seminars on every aspect of making money in real estate. Keynote speakers include Donald Trump, Robert Kiyosaki, Anthony Robbins, and George Foreman. The ATL Spring Fest will be in Building A on May 6. The event includes a college and career fair, gospel fest, celebrity guest appearances, and drum line competition. Sunday they will continue their festivities at Philips Arena with the 2006 Spring "JAM"BOREE Marching Band Exhibition. This Battle of the Bands event will begin at 4 p.m. and will feature bands from the following schools: Southwest Dekalb, Stephenson, Redan, Martin Luther King Jr., Columbia, Cedar Grove, Lithonia, Pebblebrook, Tucker, Miller Grove, Brooklyn Steppers & Augusta All-Stars. At the Georgia Dome, Georgia Institute of Technology will have their commencement ceremonies Saturday, May 6. The Gates open at 7:30 a.m. and the ceremony begins at 9 a.m. Commencement is open to the public.

Saturday night Star 94 presents Movie Under the Stars at Centennial Olympic Park. North Park will be turned into a giant outdoor cinema for a showing of "March of the Penguins". Bring your friends and blankets, stretch out and enjoy this great movie on a huge inflatable screen. There are also various other private events taking place on campus throughout the weekend. Heavy traffic is expected in and around downtown due to the number of events going on. Attendees are encouraged to take MARTA to arrive safely and quickly to their destination. The Georgia World Congress Center can be accessed by the GWCC/DOME/ Philips/CNN station.
