(Atlanta – April 18, 2007) Atlanta’s longest running free concert series, Wednesday WindDown, celebrates its 10th anniversary season this year. The 26 weeks of live entertainment by a variety of top local and national performing artists is more diverse and exciting than ever thanks to a unique radio partner every Wednesday of the month. Avoid the rush-hour traffic and mingle with other Atlanta music lovers every Wednesday, April through September from 5:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. in the Southern Company Amphitheater. Food and beverages are available for purchase around the amphitheatre and at the FountainSide Café, located in the Park’s Visitor Center.
Don’t forget to become a member of the Wednesday WindDown Regulars Club. Members receive email updates regarding concerts, are eligible for weekly prize giveaways and receive special discounts from Wednesday WindDown sponsors. Commemorate the season with a special edition 10th anniversary Wednesday WindDown T-shirt. Shirts are available on concert nights at the Centennial Olympic Park tent or at the Park’s Visitor Center.
If you enjoy Wednesday WindDown, you won’t want to miss Music @ Noon! The perfect midday getaway is every Tuesday and Thursday from noon to 1 p.m., April through October in the Southern Company Amphitheater. Bring your friends, co-workers and lunch to enjoy a variety of live music performed by local artists including pop, jazz and R&B.
New this season, the Park serves as an outdoor classroom for the audio production students at the Art Institute of Atlanta. The students are programming and producing every Thursday of the Music @ Noon series. Student bands will also perform and the concerts will be streamed on the Internet Television station WAEN.TV.
