(ATLANTA - November 22,
2004) Where in Atlanta can you enjoy
spectacular holiday lights, decorations, outdoor
ice skating and holiday concerts? Centennial Olympic
Park, in the heart of downtown Atlanta, of course.
The Park's annual “Holiday in Lights”
provides fabulous holiday family fun from now
through Jan. 2. Highlights include an outdoor
ice rink, incredible lighting displays throughout
the Park and the annual Carols in the Park singing
celebration - slated for Dec. 11.
The “Holiday in Lights” will also
be expanded and feature more lights than ever
before. The spirit of the “Holiday In Lights”
will be carried through the campus of the Georgia
World Congress Center and the Georgia Dome as
well as Centennial Olympic Park
The popular ice skating rink features a three-inch
thick sheet of real ice, covered observation seating,
theatrical lighting on the ice and decorative
lighting in the trees surrounding the rink. It's
a popular attraction for downtown shoppers and
visitors during the holiday season.
New this year ... the ice rink will be larger
by 400 sq. ft. allowing more people the opportunity
to skate at peak times. It will also be moved
to the north end of the Park. Also, this year,
companies can host food and beverage functions
at the rink for their holiday parties. MGR Food
Services will have special menus available. Arrangements
can be made for hosted events by calling Tom Sullivan
at 404-223-4500. Discounts for skating will also
be available for groups of 20 or more.
