VIBE Magazine Announces New Music Festival to Call Georgia Dome, GWCC Home

Spurgeon Richardson of the Atlanta Convention & Visitor’s Bureau, Khalil Johnson of the Georgia World Congress Center, Kenard Gibbs, President of VIBE, Mayor Shirley Franklin, and Frank Ski of V-103 Radio(March 30, 2005) VIBE Magazine announced this week that Atlanta would host the 1st Annual VIBE MusicFest to take place June 10-12, 2005 on the Georgia World Congress Center Authority’s campus. The three-day cultural and musical experience will include an array of activities, bringing the style and flair of VIBE Magazine to life.

Tickets for the VIBE MusicFest go on sale Saturday, April 2 and can be purchased at the Georgia Dome Box Office and online at www.ticketmaster.com and via phone at 1-800-326-4000.

“Atlanta is a city with a rich history of great musical traditions; we are thrilled that the first VIBE MusicFest will join that cultural legacy. We have diverse musical and cultural appetites here in Atlanta, so we look forward to experiencing the sounds and excitement this festival is sure to bring,” said Mayor Shirley Franklin.

VIBE MusicFest will feature multiple Grammy Award winning icons in the urban music industry including Mary J. Blige, Kanye West, John Legend, Ludacris, Big Boi, Faith Evans, T.I., Keyshia Cole and more. The event will bring the best in R&B, hip-hop, world music and gospel to Atlanta. The main stage performances will take place at the Georgia Dome. The Georgia World Congress Center will host seminars, a food fair, a book fair, interactive games, fashion make-overs and music showcases. Music fans will be able to meet their favorite musicians, celebrities, comedians and sports icons face to face.
