(ATLANTA - April 13) It’s another fun and exciting weekend in downtown Atlanta! From the Atlanta Journal-Constitution International Auto Show to the cross-campus Herbalife Worldwide Conference, the GWCCA is gearing up for a weekend full of activity.

New car enthusiasts will once again have the chance to shop and compare from over 38 different lines of new vehicles at the 23rd Annual Atlanta Journal-Constitution International Auto Show. It’s the largest automotive event for the Metro Atlanta dealers, featuring a wide variety of styles, including luxury vehicles, economy cars, sports cars, exotics, limited production cars, concepts, convertibles, MPV vans, light trucks and 4-wheel drive vehicles. Located in the Georgia World Congress Center’s Building B, the Auto Show is open to the public on Saturday from 9 a.m. - 10 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Tickets to the show cost $10 for adults and $6 for children age 6-12. Children younger than 6 get in for free.

Celebrating their 25th anniversary, the Herbalife Worldwide Conference will take place on the Georgia World Congress Center campus beginning Thursday, April 14 and concluding on Sunday, April 17. This private conference will bring visitors to Atlanta from 59 countries to celebrate Herbalife’s commitment to wellness and healthy living. The conference will hold registration, meals and exhibits in the Georgia World Congress Center, general sessions in the Georgia Dome, and special events in Centennial Olympic Park. For this event, Centennial Olympic Park will be closed from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday*. The FountainSide Café, Visitor Center and Pavilions will also be closed to the public during this time.

* The anticipated time of the fireworks display is Saturday at 10:45 p.m. and it is expected to last 10-15 minutes. The Park will re-open to the public at 7 a.m. on Sunday.

In addition, Atlanta hosts the first annual Cure Autism Now Walk on Saturday at 8 a.m. in Centennial Olympic Park. The Georgia World Congress Center hosts the 2005 Black College Spring Break National Job Fair in GWCC Building B in the Thomas Murphy Ballroom. This job fair is open to the public from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. The Southern Region Junior Volleyball Championship takes place in Building A beginning Saturday at 7 a.m. through Sunday at 6 p.m. This event is also open to the public.

Heavy traffic is expected in and around downtown this weekend due to the number of events taking place and a high number of shuttles running to and from the Congress Center.
