More than 1,100 international exhibitors expected for mega-event
representing all products, services used by this worldwide industry
ATLANTA (Jan. 11, 2002) - The U.S. Poultry & Egg Association's International Poultry Expo returns to the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) for the 26th consecutive year this week.
Every segment of the poultry and egg industry will be well represented at this year's expo. Last year more than 1,100 exhibitors participated in this mega-event representing every conceivable product or service used by this industry.
The exhibit halls (both East and West concourses) open at 9 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 16. However, the U.S. Poultry & Egg Association has organized several events leading up to opening day.
The Southern Poultry Science Society and the Southern Conference on Avian Diseases will team with the U.S. Poultry & Egg Association to host an International Poultry Scientific Forum Jan. 14-15 at the GWCC. Industry leaders will also hold educational seminars.
In association with the International Poultry Expo, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce will conduct two events at the GWCC.
The annual meeting dinner, which features Sen. Zell Miller as the keynote speaker, will be in the Thomas B. Murphy Ballroom Jan. 14 at 7 p.m. Tickets for this event cost $100 and may be purchased online at www.gachamber.com .
On Tuesday, Jan. 15, top state dignitaries - including Gov. Roy Barnes, Lt. Gov. Mark Taylor and Speaker Tom Murphy - will reconvene for the Eggs & Issues Breakfast. This event will also be held in the GWCC's Thomas B. Murphy Ballroom, at 7:30 a.m.
