Georgia World Congress Center Serves As Host for Segway Training and Pilot Program in Atlanta

ATLANTA (April 23, 2002) - An innovative 2-wheel vehicle made its debut at the Georgia World Congress Center on April 23.

The Segway Human Transporter (HT) is a self-balancing, electric-powered personal transporter designed for optimal use in dense urban environments. It offers an alternative mode of transportation, without emitting pollutants, anywhere people walk.
The Ambassador Force has purchased six Segway HTs, the Atlanta Regional Commission and Georgia Power have each purchased two units and the Atlanta Police Department will conduct a 60-day trial with six Segway HTs. The Georgia World Congress Center is the training headquarters for Atlanta's venture in this new state-of-the-art technology.
