Sherrie Spinks Appointed Chief Financial Officer of Georgia World Congress Center Authority

ATLANTA (May 30, 2002) - Sherrie Spinks has been appointed the chief financial officer of the Georgia World Congress Center Authority, effective June 1. Dan Graveline, Georgia World Congress Center Authority executive director, announced the appointment this month. "With Sherrie's experience and knowledge of our business and our physical facilities, we are confident that the Georgia World Congress Center, with its new Phase IV expansion to open this fall, will have the fiscal leadership required for our continued growth and development," said Graveline.

Spinks' new responsibilities include overseeing the finance and accounting department, including e-commerce; investments; Georgia Dome bond financing; and budgeting; in addition to traditional accounting responsibilities. Spinks will also oversee the purchasing and human resource departments.

"I have been fortunate to have had a career in the convention industry - I love the constant change and variety of our clientele. I am excited by this expanded role in one of the nation's premiere facilities as we continue to grow and improve," said Spinks.

As controller for the Georgia World Congress Center Authority since 1997, Spinks had been responsible for all accounting, and purchasing functions.

Prior to working for the Georgia World Congress Center, Spinks worked as an accounting manager for nine years at Nth Degree, an independent labor contractor for convention exhibitors.

Spinks graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in business administration-finance. She lives in Atlanta with her two children, Lillie and John.
