Georgia World Congress Center Prepares to Host Facility's Largest Trade Show in History, IWF 2002

ATLANTA (August 22, 2002) - The Georgia World Congress Center is gearing up for its largest convention yet, the International Woodworking Fair 2002 (IWF). The trade show is currently moving into the convention center and opens Aug. 22 through 25.

IWF 2002 is the industry's premier woodworking machinery and furniture supply convention. With more than 834,000 square feet of exhibits, the GWCC's largest to date, IWF 2002 will showcase machinery, supplies and services for both large manufacturers and small professional shops in the woodworking, furniture, cabinetry, solid surface, architectural woodwork, store fixtures, and plastic fabricating industries. More than 20,000 people are expected to attend IWF 2002.

"We are overly excited to host this year's International Woodworking Fair and the Congress Center's largest show to date. The show has grown over the years and will fully encompass the 12 exhibit halls that make up the Georgia World Congress Center," stated Pattsie Rand, GWCC Director of Sales and Marketing.

This year marks the tenth year IWF has hosted their event at the Georgia World Congress Center. IWF 2002 is the second show to utilize the four new exhibit halls of the convention center's latest expansion. The expansion, totaling 420,000 square feet of new exhibit space, will be completed later this year.

International Woodworking Fair is the largest trade show of its kind. It is owned and sponsored by the American Furniture Manufacturers Association (AFMA), the Wood Machinery Manufacturers of America (WMMA), and the Woodworking Machinery Industry Association (WMIA).
