The Georgia World Congress Center is providing its customers what most convention centers across the country have to outsource. To complement its recent state-of-the-art expansion, the Atlanta convention center has installed an automated lighting system, offering more audio/visual options to customers.
The portable Vari-Lite Virtuoso DX lighting console can transform any meeting space into a special effects lighting show comparable to what you would find at concerts and laser shows. The technologically advanced 14 spot luminaires and 12 ellipsoidal reflector spotlights will not only be lighting up ballroom and meeting space in the Georgia World Congress Center, but also the 71,500-seat Georgia Dome, 21-acre Centennial Olympic Park or the two landscaped plazas that complete the convention, sports and entertainment complex.
With the new color mixing of the lighting console, the Georgia World Congress Center can create any color or saturation, allowing for an exact match of a corporate logo or other artwork. The shutter capabilities position light right up to the border of any projection screen or other medium in the room. Synchronizing to music is as easy as choosing from our extensive library of shows already created.
"We are convinced this ultra modern lighting system will leave lasting impressions on our customers. Our ability to match visuals with sound is right on target. By having this amenity on campus, we can work side-by-side with the customers, ensuring they receive exactly what they need for their event," stated Pattsie Rand, director of sales and marketing.
The Georgia World Congress Center's staff of 12 lighting and audio experts work directly with event planners to create long-lasting visual effects. "The console and automated lights can be programmed quickly," Robert Barr, general supervisor of technical services, explained. "If a client comes in right before a seminar or program and wants the podium moved, it's very easy to reprogram on the spot, whether they move it three feet or to the other side of the room."
The Vari-Lite Virtuoso DX is a feature that few convention centers have in their facilities.
The investment in the new system was part of the 1.4 million square-foot expansion of the Georgia World Congress Center completed this fall.
