Spend the Day Downtown with Family for NBA Jam Session, Southeastern Flower Show and Professional Bull Riding

ATLANTA (Feb.3, 2003) - This weekend, the Georgia World Congress Center and the Georgia Dome host a variety of events, giving families one more reason to spend the day downtown. From a fun-filled, interactive basketball event to a bull riding competition, the Georgia World Congress Center Authority has events for the entire family.

Basketball fans can experience the exciting and inviting pre-game activities leading up to the Sunday's NBA All-Star Game at Philips Arena. The Georgia World Congress Center hosts the 10th annual NBA All-Star Jam Session in its new expansion (Building C) featuring the ultimate interactive basketball experience with fun for the whole family. Fans can test their basketball skills, play a wide variety of interactive games and see NBA stars, celebrities, and more. The NBA All-Star Jam Session will be open to the public on the following dates:

Thursday, Feb. 6: 4 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Friday, Feb. 7: 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.
Saturday, Feb. 8: 9 a.m. - 10 p.m.
Sunday, Feb. 9: 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at all ticketmaster outlets, at 1-800-4NBA-TIX, at ticketmaster.com, at the Philips Arena Box Office and at the Jam Session Box Office in the event they do not sell out ahead of time. No bags or backpacks allowed in the facility.

If gardening and horticulture suit your fancy, visit the 2003 Southeastern Flower Show held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Building A. This is a major cultural event for metropolitan Atlanta featuring over four acres of gardens. The Southeastern Flower Show is open to the public on the following dates:

Wednesday, Feb. 5: 9:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Thursday, Feb. 6: 9:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Friday, Feb. 7: 9:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Saturday, Feb. 8: 9:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Sunday, Feb. 9: 9:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at ticketweb.com, by phone at 404-888-5511 or at the Georgia World Congress Center.

Professional Bull Riders Atlanta Classic at the Georgia Dome Saturday, Feb. 8. showcases the world's top 45 bull riders competing against the world's rankest bulls during this one-day event. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. and the event begins at 8 p.m.

Heavy traffic is expected in and around downtown this weekend due to the number of events taking place. Attendees are encouraged to take MARTA to arrive safely and quickly to their destination. To access NBA All-Star Jam Session (GWCC Building C) and Professional Bull Riders Atlanta Classic (Georgia Dome), use the Vine City station. To access Southeastern Flower Show (GWCC Building A), use the GWCC/DOME/Philips/CNN station.
