Georgia World Congress Center Gears Up For Weekend of Medtrade, Music and Merchandise

From the 24th annual Medtrade conference to the first ever Atlanta Music Industry Tradeshow, the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) will serve as the host venue for a variety of events this weekend. With two public shows and one private convention, downtown Atlanta will thrive this weekend with welcomed activity.

Medtrade 2003 is the largest international tradeshow dedicated to the home healthcare industry. The annual event provides revolutionary products, trends and techniques that shape the future of the healthcare industry. More than 20,000 people are expected to attend this year's convention. This event is not open to the public. Medtrade 2003 will be held in GWCC Building B (Halls B1-B5) on the following dates:

Thursday, Oct. 9: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 10: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 11: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

For shopping enthusiasts, the new Super Sale offers a wide variety of discount merchandise for sale at the Congress Center. This is a public ticketed event. Tickets cost $6 per person. Super Sale will take place in GWCC Building A (Hall A2) on the following dates:


Friday, Oct. 10: Noon - 10 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 11: 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 12: 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.

For the first time ever, the GWCC will host the 2003 Atlanta Music Industry Trade Show. This event brings together experienced music industry veterans with people interested in breaking onto the music scene. This is a public ticketed event. Tickets cost $25 in advance or $35 at the door. The 2003 Atlanta Music Industry Trade Show will take place in GWCC Building B (Thomas Murphy Ballroom) on the following date:
Saturday, Oct. 12: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

High volume traffic is expected in and around downtown this weekend due to the number of events taking place. Attendees are encouraged to take MARTA to arrive safely and quickly to their destination. To access the Georgia World Congress Center, use the GWCC/DOME/Philips/CNN station
